How do I stop leg cramps during gym and dance?

When I stretch it hurts really bad. then in the middle of my dance routines I get them so bad I have to stop.

Recent studies seem to indicate that stretching before exercise could actually make injury more likely. Make sure you're drinking enough water and getting enough potassium in your diet.

Stretch out before and after and eat a banana before hand ^_^

You need hydration and potassium. Stay hydrated throughout the day and eat a banana at breakfast or lunch.

Don't start out stretching. Do light exercise just to get the muscles moving. Also make sure you have eaten enough carbs. 1-2 hours before hand.
