This causes deflection of winds

Report as

The deflection of winds is caused by effect of the earth's rotation on the movement of air from high pressure areas to low pressure areas. This is called the Coriolis Effect, which occurs on the Northern or Southern Hemisphere. Visit http://geography.about.com/od/physicalgeography/a/coriolis.htm for detailed information about this.
