How do I fix a "sticky" left trigger on an Xbox 360 controller?

like it randomly holds it in a game when I don't touch it. it came like that.

Try doing to the controller trigger what you do to a valve on a trumpet, wipe it down with a VERY, VERY, VERY little wet napkin and let is sit for about 5 minutes for the water to soak in (which you should only dip the first small bit of a corner and squeeze the corner to dry it a little (but with a trumpet valve you use valve oil)) and it shouldn't stick.

How long have you had it? It could just be that way because it's new, and it should loosen up as you play. If it's been like that for a while, ask GameStop to give you a replacement.

you can either return it or take it apart and see if you can fix it that way
