In Canberra pure breeds will set you back from $900 upwards, and you won't get a new born, they have to stay with their mum till at least 6 weeks old, look up a reputable breeder to get the best pup at a fair price, look on google for the nearest breeder in Canberra, you might have to goto Sydney to get a good one, but is worth the 3 hour drive . Don't buy one from a shop as they only sell the pup at exaggerated prices. If you buy from a breeder who is registered with the Kenneling Association he might offer you 2 prices, one for papers (to say it is a pure breed and can be registered for breeding) or without papers which is cheaper (but can't be registered as a pure breed or bred with to resell as a pure breed). Good luck and pugs are a great little dog too.
New born pups are rarely sold, but if they were, they would sell for less than $100. The cost of pug puppies is dependent on several factors. A show quality Pug pup can cost upwards of $1500, while a pet quality Pug pup can cost $800. On the whole, the price of a Pug pup ranges between $250 and $2,000.
New born pugs, or any dog should not be sold. Newborn dogs need to be with their mother until they are a little older then that, and should not be adopted until they are older. So I have no idea, but no matter what they cost, you should not buy one that young.
