If he is materially involved in the case, then he has a right to know what is going on. The problem would be if the worker was discussing the particulars of the case with someone who is in no way involved. An attorney would be best placed to explain this.

Is he the one who made the initial call for dhs to open an investigation on you? Or is he being investigated with you? If he did the calling then no, she can't tell him anything even though he's the father. If he's with you in it then yes, she can. He could be messing with you to get you scared, mad and/or upset. Some guys like to do that, it makes them feel like they're in control. My ex used to do it to me.
