well if you insist of not using medicine I would recommend that you drink green tea where I think it can boost your immune system and wakens you up :P and eat not like a sick person what ever you do don't its not gonna help if you eat normal you will get better nutrients instead of eating low on nutrient food which wont benefit hope I helped :)
OTC cold medications treat only the symptoms, not the actual cause. So they'll help you feel better, but not get over the cold any faster. In fact, I suppose they could make it last even longer since feeling a little better might mean you get less rest than you should. Drink lots of fluids, but avoid citrus juices which will irritate tender throat tissue; blow your nose instead of sniffling it back up; wash your hands a lot; get as much extra rest as you can so your body can heal; gargle with warm salt water to keep the germs in your throat. If necessary to break up chest congestion, take an expectorant cough syrup. And spit out any phlegm you cough up.
