From experience and 2 different corrective surgeries, this is the only way to do it. However, there are alternatives. Orthotics or shoe inserts that are custom fit to your feet. How much money that you want to spend to the how good do you want to feel ratio matters big here. Walmart has the Dr. Scholls inserts for $45 that'll last for a couple months or spend about $900 for special custom fit orthotics by a podiatrist. Those will last you a couple years and they feel like a second pair of feet. Totally worth it! Make your appointment today. My recommended opinion. Most health insurances should cover a huge portion but double check just in case. Still worth the money. And yes, surgery does hurt as do most major surgeries. But the doctors and nurses are cool and will help you through it all.
