Not likely, unless they are all self flying... When was the last time you drove, say in a city? Would you want any of those people flying around you at 10,000 ft? without even a traffic light to "suggest" that they stop and wait for someone else?
I hope not. It's bad enough with careless drivers coming from four directions; I hate to think of throwing up and down into the mix. Even if the overhead car crash doesn't involve you, there will be debris raining down. No thank you.
We have already flying cars and its mass production will start by 2018. It has already tested and proven perfect. A person having valid commercial / plain pilot licence can purchase the car. For link please see: Chocks away! Flying CAR makes aviation history by taking its first ... ? 2:14? 2:14 www.dailymail.co.uk/.../Chocks-away-Flying-CAR-.
they do exist now. and its not that far away either. lots of aeronautic companies have spent mucho dollars on R and D on vessels engineered for individuals. It'll start of with CEOs and celebrities will have them at first and then like the car soon more common people will be able to buy them. think of this: no one ever believed everyone in America would own a car either, except for henry ford. the Wright brothers were threatened with the lunacy bin at the mere suggestion that man could fly. a century later air travel is a billion dollar industry. an added component is the technology that is moving at the speed of light. Flash Gordon's technology is obsolete today. I believe in another decade this is not going to be the remote future .
Well there are already few flying cars. But not the way you imagine them. I have seen on the internet a car that turns into a helicopter and you still can drive it as a car. So it is practically a flying car, it is just not look as much as a car that we are familiar with, because they make them with aerodynamic structure.
I am currently developing a 4-seater vertical take off and landing (VTOL) aircraft that will have autopilot from start to landing. It will also be able to drive at common roads (It´s harder to make autopilot for roads) And it will look awesome. In five years it could be ready for consumers.
At first these will be booked and arrive to your location as a taxi (but cheaper) hows that sound?
