can I get in trouble as a runaway?

if I just leave , can I get in trouble as a runaway? I'm sixteen. and what about the age of seventeen?

Report as

Well at seventeen you can legally "run away" the cops can't make you go home, and your parents are still obligated to care for you, so technically you'll be totally fine at the age of seventeen, but I don't really see the point, because you'll be an adult in one year so might as well stick around until then. But if you're unhappy, or neglected, then the police should be involved ASAP

Correct. The only to leave is to sign papers, and get your parents to agree to let you live with someone else

In some states its a law to continue high school till 18, so you could get into trouble if you stop going.

Absolutely. Legally and physically. Nothing good ever happens to runaways. There are very bad people out there just looking for homeless, unprotected runaways to 'help'.
Legally, if your parents report you, youll be listed as a child in danger. An Amber Alert may even be issued and if you are picked up you may be placed on probation. Until you are 18 it is illegal to leave home without parental/guardian consent.

I don't know your situation but I would suggest you stay at home a couple more years if it is not too bad. Being on your own at that age is very hard, even if you finish high school. I don't know about the trouble part of it...stick it out if you can.

Please just stop and think about the danger you would put yourself in maybe you should see if you could go on a ride along with the police dept at night and see first hand the dangers you would be putting yourself in get a job now and start saving your money until your 18 and you should have enough to move out good luck and please re think this
