Is it true that the world will one day come to an end...?

I mean true that "All things come to an end", but does that also apply to Earth itself...?

Report as

The bible also gives signs of the times approaching Armageddon (the end of wicked mankind). Read Matthew chapter 24; 2 Timothy 3:1-7. if these don't give you shivers that we're living in the final days I don't know what will. But there will be survivors if you seek to know God now before its too late. Also read John 3:16 and 17:3.
Ask yourself, if everlasting life, on a perfect world with a perfect body were truly possible, and you didn't have to do anything too hard to gain it, isn't it worth going after? The bible says god will restore mankind to paradise conditions. Adam and Eve were perfect til the disobeyed and lost it. That's what God intends for us. He never changed his mind. Contact Jehovah's Witnesses in your phone book white pages. We are not a weird cult, I promise. Everlasting life. Is it worth it???

Oh man...

The sun is going to become a super nova after it consumes all its own energy. Our galaxy as we know it, will no longer exist.
Report as
The sun is too small to go supernova, and the galaxy will outlast the sun.

If we manage to survive even 500,000 years (1% of 1% of the time crowtrobot gave), we will likely have changed so much it won't matter.

This isn't a political question it's a religious one. God promised he would never flood the earth again that he would end it this time in fire. After the flood, of course, The earth was still left standing. You could read the book of revelations. But I'm not sure if it says anything about the world's physical form after judgement day or not.

Most likely there will be a collapse of modern society, since man is prone'd to war and also because the atomic bomb is becoming more and more available to all types of extremists. Most likely it won't be soon and it won't happen all at once but yes, we are programmed to kill one another and this earth isn't getting any smaller.

Yes the sun will eat the earth according to scientists. Or it will burn out.. Only God knows the outcome. The Bible States that one day there will be reckoning and all the evil will be thrown into the lake of fire. The good will never cry again. There will be a new Jerusalem but I don't if it will be on earth. The Bible is a hard read. I believe that there is a higher being and that Jesus is my savior. To think that we are top dogs is very unlikely. We would be full of it to think so. To get to heaven is to believed in Jesus and that he died for our sins. Heaven is where I want to be someday and that earth as beautiful as it is will be outshined by heaven. Don't trip Chris just believe.

With a biblical view - there's a difference in understanding 'earth' and 'world'. The world, in the world, of the world all pertains to what mankind has built and created. Pretty much all of what you look around and see. And the earth refers to the planet - or all of which is natural. Don't want to scare / freak you out, but I see an end result of mankind in the near future is that he will nearly destroy himself and bout all his world in a fiery nuclear storm. And the earth being recreated - renewed and continuing forever. But .. that's just one man's opinion.

Yes, to the world, to the Sun, and to the universe. Everything in our space-time dimension appears to have entropy attached. Scientists think there may have been a time when the factor for entropy may have been less, but nobody alive would know about it-- the time was early in the life of the universe, 13.5 billion years ago, according to current cosmology. But since the expansion of the universe slowed, entropy has existed.

God made the world, right? Yes. Therefore, he is the only one that knows. He is the only one who can make the decision of whether or not to cancel everything out and I do mean everything that he had ever made. Not even Jesus knows. Not even any other Christian knows. Not even any of us.

I'm not going to answer "because in the bible" or anything like that, but it will. My theory is because the sun is a star it will eventually explode. All stars don't last forever, and neither will the big star known as our sun..

Most people joke about it, but like everyone above said, there are different theories and things. If you read the Bible it can help you. Don't remember what verses. If you watch Left Behind and Left Behind ll, that shows what the Bible is talking about. Read the Left Behind series as well.
Then you have science and people's beliefs. My own family believes the Bible terms. We also believe that Mother Earth will strike back with some disaster. It could be a huge earthquake or major volcanic activity. We are putting so much on Earth, that Mother Earth won't be able to hold out forever. Sooner or later she will take action. So to sum it up, yes, just I don't know when.
