My york shire cough after drinking water. Is this normal for this kind of breed?

Well, Yorkshires are a small breed dog and they tend to drink very rapidly and eat rapidly. When they do this, it tends to make them cough or hack a bit. I have a large breed dog who actually does the same thing sometimes and she coughs when she drinks too fast too. If it continues or gets to where you think that something might be wrong then by all means take your dog to the vet to be checked out.

My dog does that to when she drinks water. She's a terrier mix. Well not all the time, but often.
