Is it true if you have a dream about someone they went to sleep thinking about you? Thankss :)

Report as

Dreams are caused (most likely) by the purging of unimportant things noted through the day that do not require further storage within your memory. Thus, if someone appears in your dream, you thought of them, or saw them recently but nothing of vital importance came of that meeting. Therefore your brain is sort of erasing most of that thought (what color shirt they were wearing, what they said exactly) this is why you can't always remember little details.

I don't think anyone really knows for sure what our dreams mean. Some times we dream of people we haven't seen in awhile. Sometimes we dream of people we don't even know. Everyones mind is different, so I'm sure it's safe to say we probably do not dream alike. It's nice when we do dream good things. I'm sure it was a random dream, enjoy it!

No. Your dreams are a way of your sub-consience dealing with your conscience. We are all connected in ways that we don't understand yet.

How do you know this for sure?

When we sleep, our mind rationalizes the events of the day or even the last month. It keeps us from going insane. It has been proven in studies that if we don't dream we die. We are just realizing the power of the human brain, but only on a small scale. We have endless possibilities. And I know this because you and I are not done learning yet.

Are you an M.D.? And even if you are, I think people speculate that they really know for sure. The brain is so complex, so unknown. I read so much and many have different answers to these questions, like, when you dream of drowning, its because you feel weighed down with responsibilities, for me, I dream of my vehicle going off the road into the water. I don't think it's because of work or responsibilities, I think it's just this fear I've always had of happening. What do you think?
Report as
No I'm not an M.D. I just read alot. Fear is one of the motivators when we dream. If you feel strongly about something it can show up in a dream.
Report as
Yeah your probably right, who knows? But it is truly interesting, the meaning of dreams, I've read them all. Some of them come close, some do not. Our minds, wow!

You know that little voice in your head that's always talking? Awake it's your conscious mind, asleep it's your unconscious mind, the point here being we are always talking. Now, while dreaming our unconscious mind talks in symbols. To understand a dream you need to interpret the symbols, the language of the sleeping mind.
Let's use this person in your dream. What does s/he mean to you, good, bad, friend, enemy, or a deeper meaning, security, success, fear, that time when... Right now, what do you most associate with that person? That's the meaning of that person showing up in your dream. It's all about symbols.
Now I realize your question may not have warranted such an elaborate answer, but you asked 'is it true...', and the answer is no, its not, but that wouldn't have been very helpful. I hope by explaining you'll be able to better understand your dreams and the language of symbols. Sleep well.

Dear, oh. dear
Mr Maloney,
you think my answer
Is only baloney.

Freud and I
and shrinks too agree,
we dream in symbols
their meaning is key.

Our beliefs, they differ
so lets clear the air,
we need not be contentious
there's room here to share.

We dream, this is true
and that's no baloney,
so lets us be friendly
dear Mr Maloney.

I don't know, I had a dream once
About making out with a wwe superstar. I told friend and she said the exact same thing, but he (the wrestler) doesn't even know who I am! So that question is mystery.

I personally believe that In sleep, people often gain a certain psychic connection to the world around them. This could mean that he/she was thinking of you than and your mind might pick up on his/her thoughts. If the dream is not as real and you can't remember some bits, it may have just been an ordinary dream. There is no way to be sure. But I feel that if you believe something, it is real. Oh wait! I almost left out if the person is famous or something and doesn't know you, you probably saw them on tv or something. Like, I had a dream I was dating Taylor Lautner but he was Jacob from twighlight. I have a poster of him in my room and had just seen new moon.

I agree with you! I think we are more Spiritually in tune with the world and all of the Universe when we sleep. I also believe our Spiritual souls leave our physical body and travel all around to unknown/uncharted places. That's why you can dream of places you've never been too and sometimes when you meet a person, you get that deja vu feeling like you've met them before, because you probably saw them while you where outside your body. We have so much to learn about this vast galaxy around us and the truth about our souls, mind and Spirit! Great answer!! :)
