Questions about getting ready for football?
So right now I am in my freshman year of high school and I am too late to join the freshman team. However, I have been really interested in starting. The problem is I know 0 about football. I know the basics of course, but I have a few questions on things such as possible positions, changes in diet/exercising and what i should be preparing for.
So, starting with positions. I am a little under 6 foot (72-72.5 inches) and 200 pounds. I am bigger than most of my friends. I can also overpower most of my friends/family members. I fit the basic description of a lineman but i just don't know what kind, offense, defense, tackle, center, guard, etc. So basically I am wondering what you guys think I would be best at.
Second, I know I would have to eat better and exercise more than I do now (not a lot). Are there certain exercises I should be doing (preferably ones I can do at home)? As for food, do i need a lot of proteins, carbs and such? Finally, what should I prepare for mentally/physically going into football for the first time?
