Can benylin kill you if you take too much

Report as

Anything can kill you in significant quantities (even water!)......

Anyway.... the active ingredient in Benylin is phenylephrine hydrochloride. For oral dosage in rats - death occurs in 50% of the population (LD50) at 350mg per kilogram of body weight (each pill has 5mg). So for example a grown man weighing 80 kilograms (180 pounds) would have to consume more than 5000 pills by accident to die. It is unlikely a person could physically consume that many pills. They also contain acetaminophen (Tylenol) which will cause liver failure long before the benylin kills you.

Be very careful with drugs and only use as directed. Always consult a doctor with questions and problems.
