A pond is a small body of water, maybe with some vegetation around the edges, a wetland is not considered a body of water, it is considered a land mass. It usually has tall grasses/weeds and everywhere you step is either really wet grass/dirt or you may find a small(like 2x2 feet) pond inside a wetland.
A pond is a small body of still water that is formed naturally or by hollowing or embanking. Wetland, on the other hand, refers to land consisting of marshes, bogs or swamps. Such land must be saturated with land.
