Othello Essay: Is Iago justified in his reasons?

I have to write a 5 page essay answering this question. I have no idea what to write about perhaps that no, he wasn't because his reasons as to why he hated Othello were flimsy and probably not even true.
If anyone could help me out I'd be so thankful.

In Shakespeare's Othello, lago is not justified in his reason for hating Othello. He has several self-justification reasons as to why he hates Othello including that of taking his promotion, suspicions for committing adultery with his wife and getting the mistress he desires.
