Why is gardening good for the community?

I'm working on a presentation about helping the community. I need to know why gardening is so important to the enviroment.

It gets you outside where you can see and be seen. If you live in a single family house, it makes your yard look better and your house more friendly looking. There are community gardens where people get together and plant various foods and flowers. There's one in the park down the street from my house. It's quite lovely. Did you ever watch Arthur on pbs? I think that show had a community garden. It was a way for people in the area to get to know each other and have access to fresh fruits and vegetables.

Gardening would be good for the environment, because plants create oxygen. They also absorb carbon dioxide.

Gardening is important to the environment since it enhances proper use of natural resources such as soil. Gardening also results in healthy growth of plants that help in maintaining optimum ecological conditions. Gardening also contributes to development in a community by sustainmg its people with food from the crops. Visit http://www.gardendallas.org/benefits.htm for more information.
