Will Neosporin worsen my cold sore?

my cold sore started monday morning, i went to school and it got worse the next day. its friday now and its barley getting any better. when i wake up, it looks much better but throughout the day it goes kinda goes back to its nasty self, blistery. i used abreva but it doesnt work and right now im using neosporin but so far from this morning it doesnt look like its getting any better.

instead of getting something hydrating, get something that will dry it out, like rubbing alcohol. i've used abreva on cold sores before and it's helped me. it's expensive, so you might as well consider continuing using it because it should help over time.

Neosporin will definitely not help it. Neosporin is an agent that stimulates skin growth. Helping cuts heal over. No, I would not use it on your cold sore.

Neosporin is an antibiotic - it kills bacteria. Your cold sore is caused by a virus. So Neosporin will do nothing for your cold sore. Except possibly inflame it - many people have allergic reactions to it. Oregano oil is antiviral so you can use that but it can sting horribly so be careful.
