I need help with a problem I have?

Ever since I was 7, I've always been sorta depressed. It hit me like a train when I was at the movie theatre watching mamma Mia. I started crying and I felt like I needed to crawl out of my skin or die. I get in those moods and it gets really deep where I actually throw up. I have a lot of friends, happy where I live. Everything's great! I can only think of stress though.. Its a very deep feeling btw. What am I supposed to do?

I would talk to a therapist. You may have repressed a traumatic incident that happened to you when you were younger and your subconscious may be ready to allow you to start the healing process. Please, even if I am wrong, seek a councilor or therapist to help you deal with your major depression. :0) Good luck Sweetie.

Sorry my friend, I fell asleep last night. I think that (especially since you just said your 14) and you "should" be happy because things are going fine but you just can't shake off this horrible depression. I do not want to scare you but the human body is one of the most remarkable creations ever. The brain has (what I like to describe) a special defence mechanism set up designed to block out and protect the human mind from extremely traumatic experiences especially in young children. It "blocks" the horrible memory until the child is old enough to begin to deal with the experience. But a lot of times depression and/or acting out is the start of the knowledge so the healing process can begin. I am not a therapist but I have known and seen many who have blocked out childhood memories. No matter what though I want you to know it is OK to feel. It is OK to be sad. It is OK to feel angry. It is OK to feel happy also. It is OK. And if I am correct and therapy helps I want you to know you are strong and YOU will be OK. You will get through this either way. God bless you Sweetie. :0)

Depression can be caused by many things. Try & document when your having these feelings to see if there's a pattern. A lot of women tend to get very emotional when they are experiencing PMS. Harmones can play a big part! Depression can also be hereditory. Ask family members if there is a history of depression in your family. A chemical imbalance, stress, not enough sleep, fatigue & other factors can also play a big part if your feeling depressed. The good thing is that you are aware of your feelings & are willing to reach out to get help. Having a good support group such as your friends & family is also a bonus! A good cry now & then can be a healthy way of releasing any stress that you may be having. If it keeps persisting talking to your family physician will also help.

I'd talk to your doctor they may be able to put you on medication for depression also the most important thing is to talk to a therapist because if you are talking out your problems with a therapist they can help you cope or solve problems you are dealing with. Feel better soon.
