How to get over a death of someone you are close to?

One of my friends moms died a couple of days ago from her cancer getting to her brain after 7 years fighting it. I just went to the funeral and I was having these fond memories of being over there on sleep overs and her being really funny and great. Always joking around and was really nice, I felt like I could go to her for anything. I am mourning but I am very upset and I want to stop feeling so depressed I know she wouldn't want everyone to be sad.

Yes, Dawnbright said it best- you are not supposed to deny the feelings of grief. Allow yourself to have the feeling of grief and sadness- it's what makes us human. It takes time to pass through these feelings -as it should be. Wishing you well-.

You shouldn't deny the feelings of being depressed. You are supposed to mourn. Each day take 5 minutes to stop and think of one best memory. The day you forget to take the 5 minutes will be the day you know you are healing.

Hmmm. Do I have a reputation? Does my speech pattern sound like I am from Ohio? :) Actually to answer your questions : I don't know - Ohio but not west central - Teacher ... Not in the sense you mean probably. How do you know me?
