Did Jimmy Swaggart go to jail? If yes, for how long?

And what for?

Satan loves to destroy a preacher because he can split a whole church or a whole TV ministry.
No one is safe from satan unless they stay in constant touch with Jesus.
All of us can fall.

So the good reverend wasn't responsible for his own reprehensible behavior? Satan was? You are surely joking.

Everyone is responsible for their own behavior. That doesn't mean Satan wasn't involved in the temptation.

Exactly, Satan was the one who tempted Eve to eat of the forbidden fruit, which in turn brought all this evil into the world. And I totally understand your answer, I'm just trying to settle a dispute with my grandparents.

Interesting that Christians are so willing to dispose of personal responsibility and claim a supernatural baddie is responsible.

Equally interesting that such a large proportion of fundamentalist or evangelical preachers are involved in scandals due to their unethical and immoral behavior.

To understand the things of God, you have to have God.

And I honestly hope that you find Him, and soon. We tell you guys to find God because we know what your fate will be if you don't, we tell you because we love you just as God loves you. And He wants you to live with Him for all of eternity, but you can't if you are not saved, and the only way to be saved is though Jesus Christ and what He did for us on the cross.

I think it's interesting how atheists tend to have this supernatural hate for Christians when we're the ones who TRY to live right. We feed the poor, and clothe the needy. We are a people of love. Our golden rule is treat people how you want to be treated. Why do you guys hate us so much?

No jail, not even arraigned. But in 1988, Swaggart was implicated in a sex scandal involving a prostitute that resulted initially in his suspension and ultimately Swaggart was defrocked and removed from the ministry by the Assemblies of God. Three years later, Swaggart was again implicated in a sex scandal involving a prostitute. As a result, Swaggart's current ministry is non-affiliated, non-denominational and significantly smaller than it was in the ministry's pre-scandal years.

Right, I'm not judging him, I watch him all the time. My grandparents are the ones who are against him. They said he went to jail for like 10 years or more so I was asking it to try to figure out if it was true.
