Why do you call your parents mom/mum and dad?
Because if you call 'em by their first names you get smacked upside the head!
To check up on them o_o
Because it's a respect
Always have, never thought about 'why' I do it. I just do.
One shows reverence at their grave site. Safe Journey
Because I don't want to get smacked upside the head. :)
They are the only one by whom we are all here..so we show respect by calling them mom and dad
mom and papa.
Hmmm, my kids call me maaaaaa with a nasal twang.
I'm 60 and my parents have passed. However if I ever calked my parents anything else, especially by their names they would have drop kicked me across the street!
momma and daddy....but my brother calls my mom by her first name....so did my daddy when his mom was living......not sure why...just something we do...
I think it's actually a symbol of love, to show that we don't have to be formal around them and that they will always be there for you.
