Can your doctor deny you treatment even if you pay your bill with cash and having no insurance?

Report as

A doctor in a private practice can refuse to treat anyone they choose. And hospitals often choose to not treat people who dont have insurance.
My personal experience with this was with a chiropracter. Id hurt my back and was supposed to have three visits to a chiropracter. First session was awesome. They were very attentive and the chiropracter himself was very friendly and did all sorts of cool stuff. On the way out i paid in cash. They did file on my insurace tho and found out i wasnt covered for chiropractic visits. Despite the fact i paid in full in cash the second visit left much to be desired. I was keft in the emoty waiting for thirty minutes, saw the doctor for about one minute during which he did nothing and didnt smile once and seemed in a hurry. The assistant did one procedure and was finished. I paid in cash again. Did not go back for the third visit.

A doctor cannot deny you treatment if you are able to pay your bills with cash without insurance. According to the Department of Health and Human Services, the doctors should treat those with or without insurance provided they are able to pay. Are you asking for a treatment that he doesn't agree with? If I were you I would find another doctor rather than go to one that doesn't want to help.
