Both. The system is what is broken. it is not the individual person, it is the party system, and the irrational thought to borrow out to 30 years in the future for day to day spending. (This is how our budget is being paid for each year, and has been since about 1964!) It is not like we are building a bridge which costs 30 years to pay for. This is for day to day spending, government projects (pork) and luxury junk.
The economy has an ebb and flow. Going back and looking you'll see where Reagan inherited a recession from Carter, Clinton inherited a recession from BushHW, BushW inherited a recession from Clinton and Obama inherited a recession from BushW.
The recession is our own fault. People bought homes they couldn't afford, which they then abandoned, which crashed the retail market, which crashed the banks that they borrowed from, which crashed market after market, and it's all because people are stupid. People ALWAYS blame the president for our issues, and never even think for 1 second it might just be the people of America. Fix your own self before you look at the president.
Both. I would say more Obama since it's twice as bad since he came in to office. Mainstream media tells us to hate bush and blame him, but after 6 years since he was in office, we can't continue to okay the blame game. Obama is more responsible.
bush is my opinion because what he did was similar to what LBJ did with vietnam, yes we needed to get justice for nine eleven but bush then started to have the media talk about all these things that we needed to go and change so he got his war and look what has happened we lost a shit ton of money and obama is trying anything he thinks will help make it better but its now like a sinkwhole and anything you put in you just feed it and make it bigger
The president has very little control over the economy, that's primarily in the hands of the Fed and the Fed chairman. The president can make general policy, set a tone, even establish tax laws, but it takes the Congress to pass them. Bush may have been responsible for the recession, but more likely it was the act of Congress to allow for financial derivatives and No-doc loans. Neither Bush nor Obama were responsible for those, they started under Clinton.
Obama has spent more money then all the other presidents put together how we going to pay our bills when we borrow money to pay our bills now albama continually spends more and more and more think about it who do you think the problem is read the Bible it will scare the hell out of you and leave bush out of it
Obama is the tax and spend president. He has spent more than all the other presidents combined. He is a lavish spender and has kept the debt ceiling skyrocketing the whole time he was president in the first term until congress got scared to death and stopped him. He spends and spends and spends and won't allow the media to reveal any of his evil doings. No president has had control of the media like this before either. He has been acting like a dictator. He's a hard one to stop once he gets going and has over 30 czars at the white house giving him advice. They are all extreme radicals who, like him, want to get rid of our religious freedom. Whether the Communists take over or the Terrorists, (either is possible), the Christians will have no freedom left. By trusting God, this nation has become great. They want to destroy it now.
I laugh every time I hear this, we all know that Bush Jr. started the recession and tried his BEST to make sure he destroyed this country in every way possible. Take a look before he got in office, when Clinton was president you never heard of or actually seen the depth of crisis we have had since Bush has been in office! Clinton was kicked out of office b/c he was doing a good job of helping the citizens get jobs and have a better way of life so, they threw Bush in office and it has been Hell ever since. People started losing their homes, cars etc., catastrophic events started taking place, terrorist attacks, crime you name it. So, anyone would be a fool to say or blame Obama for the start of the recession. Bush created a recession so Bad that this country is still trying to pick up the pieces on what he did. And now we are hearing about another Government Shut Down and all I have to say is, Congress better get off their @$$*** and do something besides making a paycheck off of citizens hard earned money.
Obama. Well, actually, yeah. he is. He is taking money from middle and upper classes to house, feed, and ,give healthcare to people who sit on their butt all day and dont attempt to get a job. If your trying, tons of respect to you.
Neither. A recession is caused by the people and the Presidents can only help the best they can. Recessions can be caused by inflation, high cost of something (like rent), stock market crashes, panics, and the biggest factor is NO CIRCULATION OF MONEY.

Congress definitely. Obama's doing his best to balance them. I'm trying not to say that he's trying to control it because the word "controlling" doesn't bod well with politics. Mostly because it rarely exists and people who usually control government really don't and they take it over. But taking over and controlling something are two totally different things and Obama is trying to Control it not take it over.
obama is the reason we are still in one. He holds the record for longest lasting recession. You Bush bashers forget that Bush inherited a recession from Clinton then survived 911. When the dems took congress 2 yrs before obama they ran the economy down, on top of the frank- dodd housing bill. In a nut shell.
