Do I need a pug mill for clay mixer to prepare dry clay?

I can't get any clear answers about this.
I'm looking to start small with a studio and don't want to invest so much money into pre-moistened clay when I could prepare my own dry clay from bags.
If I do need a pug mill or mixer, what would you suggest for a studio that would be used by 1-4 people?

You need a pug mill for clay mixer to prepare to prepare dry clay. This will enable all your dry clay to go into the barrel, which is done instead of wedging. Read more from

I was definitely looking into Bailey's. Such a huge expense!
