Why does a person who has advanced Alzheimer is able to wake up one day laughing and having smart conversations? Can this be prolonged?
My grand father has advanced Alzheimer. He used to speak 5 languages and even wrote a book. The only thing he is able to do nowadays is to sing his favorite song when my brother or I start singing it (he would follow us) Now he is not able to talk, nor to smile, nor to remember family members. He rarely answers simple yes or no questions. He has to do everything assisted. However, once or twice a year he wakes up really good. He is able to have a smart conversation, to smile, and even to tell jokes and laugh. Why can he wake up in such a perfect condition once in a while? (twice a year) How can this be prolonged?
I have not been able to find this answer anywhere in the internet. If you could hep us we would greatly appreciate it. Thanks,
