Why do parents put their kids on birth control?

it seems like they are encouraging their children to go out and have sex. [ In my opinion ] I know sometimes they don't trust them and have to have them do it but still. The kids shouldn't even have any freedom if they can't be trusted.

It's IN CASE their child chooses to have intercourse. They aren't encouraging, but a lot of teens seem to think that's what it is. They think that since their parents gave them birth control pills, then they can go out and have s3x. But that's not what the parents are leaning towards. You never know when a young woman will get pressured into it having s3x. Some parents also give them to their daughters for their menstrual cycles. Birth control pills delay a woman's period and have also been known to help with acne.

They don't want their daughter to have sex. But, they don't want her to ruin her life with a child more. So it's a sad comprimise.

i personally would rather put my kid on birth control then have them come home pregnant that is probably why they do it...i wouldnt say its encouraging them to have sex but if they are asking for the birth control they are already thinking of doing it anyway, better be safe then sorry

"Let it be" has a good answer... but I understand your concern...!!! It seems like birth control is facilitating early encounters and neglecting the variety STD's...!!! Kid's are contracting diseases that will still be with them long after their children have grown and left to be on their own...!!! It's important to be involved in the lives of one's children and not just throw out a bunch of quick solutions...!!! So parents should not only inform their kids about using birth control but also how to prevent STD's and maintain open channels of communication...!!!

So that there children can have good lives and finish school. Having a baby in your teens does not make you stupid for those of you whom said that. It could have happened to any of us who had sex as teens.
