Pets are so funny! What is something unique or silly/funny that you pets do?

is it me? or do pets has such funny personalities? they always seem to find a way to make you laugh! my cat loved to copy everything we do! she shakes her head no, opens doors, sit in the chair to eat, and so much more! and my kitten is so sweet, if I sing to him he stops what he's doing, and just finds the closest spot and falls asleep! he climbs on my back when he is scared, sticks his tongue out when he wakes up and stretches, chases his tail. Haha take some time to share a bit about your pet, maybe you can make someone smile an laugh and make their day :)

When my dog's vet appointment is over he picks his leash up in his mouth and tries to walk himself out. The other dog will be sitting in the living room with us , but then he'll go in the kitchen to get something to eat. he takes a mouthful of kibble and starts chewing it while walking back into the living room. by that time he has swallowed the mouthful so he has to go back into the kitchen to get another mouthful. again, he chews while walking back to us, then swallows about the time he reaches the living room. this will go in for a while. that's him in my profile pic

Thanks! I agree with you about pets being funny. My dogs give me something to laugh about every day. Your cats sound so cute. Your question is probably against Ask guidelines, because it's a sort of survey type question, and chatty more so then trying to seek information - but I'm sure not reporting it!! This is fun!!

Opps! Didn't want to break the rules! I've seen other silly questions like this in the humor section but I thought this would be a better one for the pets section

My dogs just made me laugh, right now, after a bad day. They love to wrestle like brothers. The brown one fake growls. He kept pouncing on the black one on the couch, then he took a flying leap off the couch. With his ears flying, he galloped across the room and back, and jumped on the couch again. Then he repeated the whole thing. He's an entertaining clown. The black one enjoys the wrestling too but he's more mellow.
Report as
I wonder if maybe I should get another dog for the dog I have already. They seem to do the craziest things if they have another dog around.
Report as
If you can manage the extra expense and work, I recommend it. My two dogs play a lot of funny games with each other. The brown one brings me a toy to throw. They both chase it, but the black one always catches it. Even though he's blind. The brown one lets him; he backs off and doesn't really try. But then he whines so I have to tell him to bring another toy to me, which he does. He will do this over and over again. But the other day, he went over to black dog, stared, and growled quietly. Black dog dropped the toy and pushed it towards the brown dog. Some times, if the black dog is playing with brown dogs favorite toy, brown dog will bring me any toy to throw. He knows black toy will chase it and catch it. Then brown dog will quickly go grab the toy he actually wanted. They play a lot of chase games with each other, running in circles around the house, sometimes switching directions when they spy each other around the corner. They look so funny when they confront each other, front paws down and butts up in the air with tails wagging. They slap the floor with theirs paws and give little barks to each other , then they jump up and reverse directions and run the other way, or wrestle. Later in the evening the three if us will relax on the couch. I say "it's bedtime. Go to bed" they jump off the couch and each goes to their own crate, where they sleep at night.

Here's some more funny stuff my cats do :)
- the kitten stays in my room a lot because he is to little to be alone around the house, so when he is in my room him and my cat will just lay on both sides of the door watching each other, and even when the other cat is not there, they will lay there and wait or them.
- if the kitten is bored he will walk around the room meowing until you play with him
- they both "sit" and "high five"
- they LOVE to fetch
- the kitten (Jonah) loves to wear dog clothes!
- Jonah thinks he is a dog
-The cat (Asia) thinks she is a human
- if you dress Asia she pretends to fall over and acts like she can't walk, when she really is perfectly fine
- if you don't wake up when he wants, Jonah will stand on my head and bite my hair, because he knows it makes me get up
- if you don't use a heavy glass bowl, Jonah will knock it over on himself, multiple times a day by jumping in it or running into it for fun.
- Asia likes to hang out on top of doors

My australian shepherd dog has four tennis balls in the house. Over the past few days, we've noticed multiple times that she's lined 3 of them up in an almost perfect line across the house. She also likes to hug legs. No, she does not hump them, I know what that looks like. She HUGS your leg and won't let go, usually when she wants to play. She'll also try to bury her food bowl. She'll rub her nose on the floor in front of it like she's trying to push dirt over it, but usually she just ends up tipping it over and spilling her food everywhere. She attempts to herd our cat, but the cat doesn't take very lightly to that. We say she's psychotic. :)

Bites and barks at strangers, mailmen, friends, and intruders.

So cute! The burying thing reminded me if something else my cat does, if she has an accident or throws up she gets embarrassed and tries to bury it with whatever she can! Plastic bags, socks, rugs! Thankfully this hardly ever happens!

My Pomeranian was so upset that I did not bring him a treat two vacations ago.
When I emptied my last suitcase he just gave me this searing look of disappointment!
I felt horrible. And I knew I interpreted his actions correctly when I arrived from our recent 3 day trip to Glacier.
My daughter was house sitting and I brought her a few things from the trip. My dog was in the other room. He whirled around and came charging in, settling his little butt right at my feet, looking up at me, eagerly anticipating his gift!
I told him as I gave him the doggy treats that I had bought his first.
Thanks for the fun question!
People love talking about their pets.

Aww, a pomeranian.
Report as
Yes, Kail, he is so awwww,...
He are more like a cat than a dog in some ways.
Very delicate in body but fierce in spirit. Unless faced with something overwhelming that is, like a tiny pug puppy!
Really, he was frightened by a pug. Sigh...
But in his defense, he is a wimp because his older bro used to torture him.
Even in the short time we were there picking him out his bro (who outweighed him by about double) was chewing on his ear until he whimpered then screamed, but still wouldn't let go.
So instead of saying he has just not been socialized, I say he was rescued! lol

My dog...
-hits a service bell with his front paw to ask for a treat.
-burps after he eats, drinks, and just sometimes at odd times.
-sometimes howls or barks (with jaws moving), but no sound coming out.
-moves his mouth like he is trying to word something to you because he wants something.
-gets all excited because I make a slurping sound with my straw (on purpose). After I finish my drink, I say aahhh and he gets really excited and runs for his toy and starts barking because he knows it's his special (after my dinner) snack time.
-will hit my foot or leg with his paw because he wants me to rub him with my foot. If I stop, he hits me again. My dog is obsessed with feet and will sometimes go and smack one if someone has their foot in the air. (He hits with his paw when he wants anything, really.)
-gives me a kiss goodnight or just when I say "smoochie" or ask for a kiss.
-gets excited when he hears certain ringtones on our phones because he knows who is calling.
-has to have at least one paw touching you while sleeping on the bed next to you.

-If he expects you to be home at a certain time (like from work or something), then he will stand in front of the grandfather clock and start barking at you when you ask him if you are late.
-If my dad leaves the room, then my dog has to walk around him to make sure he is right at his calf to follow him (like he's in line or something).
-He gets fed a special meal twice a day at a certain time, so about an hour before he will always try to follow you around and stare at you to get you to feed him early. (Sometimes, he gets his way too. haha)
-Ever since he hurt his back leg, we have to carry him to go outside because of the steps. He will not go down the steps by himself anymore. Instead, he will stand still and turn away from you so you can pick him up to take him out.
-He will only drink water out of a red bowl in my room.
(We had to find the identical bowl to put in another room just so he will use it because he wouldn't drink out of any other one.)
-If he's not sleeping in my room, then he will scratch on my door about 45 minutes before my alarm goes off. I open the door to let him in, but he just sits there because he is trying to get me up and out.
-Was in love and obsessed with my Jack Russell.
-He will let you rub him on the back, but if you just hold your hand without moving, he will grouch at you.
-He will start to growl at you if you ask him if you can see his belly.
- He will start to growl at you if you start "walking" with your fingers towards him (like a spider) on the ground.
-Hates a bath, but loves the hair dryer.
- Oh yeah and for the one part in my original answer: After I say aahhh...I always say Yooo-hooo...and that gets him excited too.
-We used to give my dogs special chew treats (called cheweez or something close to that). Whenever I decided to give them one, I would make a fake sneeze...like saying achoo...and they would get all excited because they knew that meant they were getting a cheweez.

There's more, but I just can't think of them. haha

Our cat used to nibble my toes.
She did my sisters too, but I was the only one who would get up to let her out.
It was fun to spend time with her alone in the early morning.
She would 'run away' for a couple of days at a time.
Then for a week.
Then two.
And one time, she never came back.
She went feral.
Ran away with an orange tabby male. He was quite a handsome fellow.
I know because a year later I saw them in the fall in the woods together.
I called her name and she paused and looked back at me sweetly.
Then left with him.
It was good to know she was okay.
The wild child!

Yes, it is a bittersweet story.
She was a special kitty.
Her daughter Fuzzy, became matriarch when she grew up.
Tiger, her 2nd daughter, was a little hussy.
And Socks, the baby, was a bit delicate.
(Not very imaginative names but they came from little kids, lol.)
Tiger would 'cat about' and get herself pregnant then abandon the babies.
We had to lock her in the closet to get her to feed them!
Fuzzy took them in and nursed them with her own litters.
Tiger took the time to see they were safe, then only nurse enough to get her milk dried up.
"Takes all kinds." as my momma used to say.
Socks, was too feeble for babies but had four anyway.
Our first white ones and one solid black male.
The white ones all died the first day. :(
She never had any more.
The black one stayed tiny all his life.
He would eat on the trough' where we fed them with all the others.
Growling the entire time, and chowing all the food in front of him, he slapped down his claws as far as he could reach and eat it all, then move to another spot and do it again.
He was the only cat Fuzzy would move over for.
All the rest stayed out of HER way. And if a cat did not want to yield their spot to the little guy, Fuzzy MADE them.
We wormed them regularly, so he didn't have worms. His tummy was simply a bottomless pit.
We even fed him an extra meal or two by himself a couple of times a day.
Back then spray and neuter was not common.
But we had a good reputation for nice kittens and put an ad in the paper for 6 week old mousers.
They were always taken right away and we would get reports back that they did well.

Report as
That's sad about the babies. :(

Aw so sad about the kittens! When we got Asia at about 2 wks old she had 3 sisters and a brother, I was told they were abandoned by their mom and stuck under a flower pot or something similar :(!! Asia was the last to find a home (we kept her) and the other siblings were already in homes, she had 2 homes before us, 3 if you count one who had a her a few hours. It was to much work for the other two homes because they already had one of the other kittens, so we took her in, my mom was allergic too, but we couldn't let her be with someone who couldn't take care of her how she needed, she is 3 now and amazing and healthy! I am so glad I have her!!! It couldn't have turned out better. She has no health issue and is so sweet and pretty!

My girls (boxers) are too cute. They fight for my attention. They each have their own, huge bed but will snuggle up on one. Hit their paw on the sliding glass door to go out & if we don't let them out right away, will come sit in front of us and stare. They play chase and slide across the floor. One of them makes this hilarious growling sound when she has the ball in her mouth. The other loves playing with a half lemon. Will slap their bowl when they want food or water. And when they see their harness & leash in hand, go absolutely whack. They love their walks. I love them!

I have a 3 year old Golden Doodle named Daisy May and we adopted her from a breeder who breeds Golden Retrievers and Poodles. She is super soft and loves snow. Golden Doodles grow to be very big, but Daisy didn't grow as big as her brothers and sisters. She is really strange sometimes at night when she plays with her squeaky toys because she will roll around on the floor and squeak squeak squeak! She always wants to play when my family and I go to bed. My dog knows how to smile too! We feed her almost anything (that's safe of course) and she is free to roam around the house (she even has her own couch!) Some people keep their pets in cages all day, but Daisy is a free dog and we love her very much :)
