I recently had my 2nd computer monitor die on me and now after changing my settings programs seem to be opening on the unplugged monitor

I can't plug the other monitor in because it's totally dead, and I can't buy a new one for a while, I have changed my screen settings and used the "detect" button to make sure it was only getting one monitor input. All seems fine but multiple programs still open on a monitor that isn't there. When you open a program in windows 7 it shows a little version of the program you opened and it get bigger and bigger very quickly and maximizes, I can see it shoot across the screen as if there is another monitor there. Hope someone can help, im clueless.

your system may also be set up for Duel Monitors and the program was set to the second monitor. Check you computer settings in the display page and change to a single monitor. You can find cheap or Free used monitors on Craigslist. If you were in Central Indiana I could give you a few..LOL
We bought our last 5 monitors from a college salvage store, they are all still working, we've had the oldest "used" flat screen monitor for about 6 years and paid $40.00 for it.
You can also connect a computer to many of the new Digital TV's. Good Luck!

There could a fault with a third party software you are using that causes the programs to seem to be opening to wrong or unplugged monitor. You can troubleshoot this problem by changing the display settings and focusing on a single display. Contact a technician for more help.
