Will military recruitment centers close in a government shutdown?

Will the recruitment offices close during a shutdown if a citizen wants to enlist in the military?

In most cases, military recruitment centers won't close in case the government shuts down. As a matter of fact, the military tends to get involved in the day to day running of the government until everything returns to normalcy. However, I think it would be a good idea to visit the center for detailed information on the same.

Best way to find out would be to call or visit one.

Nope. They'll still be open. The government won't be "down" for long I'm sure. And there are plenty of people that are in the process of joining that will be in and out of their recruiter's office still. They'll still accept new people joining too.

No they will be open. The US Military remain on duty. They are not being paid while the shut down is in effect. They will be paid retro actively, though that doesn't help them feed or house their families in the real time.

I stand corrected. Last night at the wire, congress did pass a bill insuring the military would be paid thru the shutdown. The civilians on the other hand are just out of luck. Of course the elected ones still get full salary and benees.

Military never shuts down, it will always be funded, retroactively.
