When was the last time the Kansas City chiefs went 5-0?

Report as

Hi, Don. I may be reading this completely wrong. But it appears to me, from this article that it was in 2003:

The Chiefs went 13-3 in 2003 and their offense, considered by many as one of the most powerful of all time, helped make Kansas City again a favorite to win Super Bowl XXXVIII. After starting 9-0, the Chiefs lost to the Cincinnati Bengals in their tenth game following a "guarantee" by Bengals wide receiver Chad Johnson.

Maybe I've read that wrong, but I was looking at the "after starting 9-0" part.

Thank you, Brendan. Why, I spent at least half a hour reading on that one! I kept thinking, "Am I reading this right?" I LOVE football. My husband's a football widower. He couldn't care less. His job is to screen my calls during the games. ROFL :o)

Probably sometime in the sixties when Lamar Hunt was the coach and Len Dawson was the Super Bowl winning quarterback.

The kansas city chiefs have not gone 5-0 before, on an interview with their current coach he stated that they hope they are going to break their previous record.
