I have been using Skype a lot lately...?

and when I do, I have to use headphones or I can't hear the other person because my volume doesn't go loud enough. Well the headphones I have been using are in-the-ear, ear buds. They have been in almost constantly for 5 days in a row. When I took them out last night, I woke up this morning and my ears felt like I still had my headphones in. Well, It's almost the afternoon, and they still feel that way.

Why do my ears feel this way?

Your body got accustomed to having the headphones in and sort of shaped itself to them, so now that they are out your brain is freaking out. To make it not go crazy it is sending signals to the nerves and back trying to make itself think that they are in. It will take a few days for this to end.
