Is it bad that I don't have a job yet?

So I'm 17 and I just can't find a job. I've applied to at least over 10 places and for multiple positions. I've made call after call after call...And I'm having no luck. I try to make sure I keep things up to date. I've been searching for months now. I'm in my senior year, almost turning 18 soon and my cousin who is younger than me already got his first job WITHOUT even having any job experience whereas I already have a little. My family thinks I'm lazy and not trying but I'm stressed out of my mind because I don't want to have to put a year of college off and I need money to save but I don't know what else I can do. Any suggestions? Sorry this was kind of like a rant too because I'm just so aggravated!

No. I'm not saying don't get a job. You should keep trying. But my brother didn't get his first job until he was 19. As long as you keep your life on track

You say you have a little job experience? What happened at the other job may interfere with getting a job now. You may also be unwilling/unable to work hours they want you to. If you are in activities at school that limit your availability for example or you won't work weekends....Or your last jobs(s) are giving you bad review

rants are cathartic so thats good for you..tell your parents about all the work and effort your putting into getting a job and illustrate your sincerity to them and that should be enough..fyi..there are no jobs out there and the ones that are you wouldnt want to do but good luck anyway..hope things go well..god bless

Where are you applying? Depending on the type job you are applying to most jobs would require some form of experience. You will need to start ay the bottom and work your way up. If going to college work study may be an option for you.
