Is there such thing as true love?

I keep seeing too many people get divorced and breaking up. Is it really love? Why can't people just stay together????

I believe there is someone for everyone!! True love is similar to the love that God/Christ has for us. People have flaws and many people fall for the superficial (beauty, money, status, body, etc.) and are not willing to accept the person for who they really are. When we are dating, we usually send our representative and then the real person comes out later. In my relationship now, he loves me when I'm dressed up and when I'm depressed...we can talk about anything and I can have a differing opinion than his (my ex didn't do any of that). This is as close to true love that I've ever come.....but I ain't dead yet....LOL!!

marriage is a waste of money. why would someone need a piece of paper (marriage liscence) to tell the whole world they love someone.

That piece of paper isn't to "tell the whole world they love someone". It's to prove there's a legal relationship recognized by the courts. That's why unmarried people can live together, but they don't have the same property/inheritance rights as a married couple.

Of course ... you CAN sign all sorts of legal forms as an unmarried couple to get the same recognition, it's just easier to have the marriage license. But you can do the same thing with a will, power of attorney, medical power of attorney, etc.

being a Christian women married 26 years to my best friend what this paper does it stands for what god believes in that goes with the bible living together The devil has you you are not living a moral life style and i know a lot of people do not make it but than alot do and ebven though my husband and i are best friends we still have our own tings we love to do for example he like to watch movies and so do i but when he wants to play vidio games I will go window shopping with a girlfriend a daught er or by myself. but we have been throught he death of both my parents and the death of his mom whom I loved career cghanges three kids two are really good kids and one is well he has ahd in tears many of times but this goes back you two have to be willing to love in sickness and in health rich or poor and i am very comfortable now but back when we were young we were just as happy with less stress we laugh about it now but we had box for a table plants to make the apt fresh a my favorite poster this lady with big red lips heheh now i have a 3000 sqaure foot home a a boat the fits10 people easy 21 foot expandable camper beautiful stuff to wear but it would mean nothing with out God and my husband by my side to laugh ith cry with so yes love is grand

Remember that God originated marriage. Genesis 2:24 clearly sates "That is why a man will leave his father and his mother and he must stick to his wife and they must become one flesh. Jesus himself reiterated this point at Matthew 19:5 and concluded by saying in verse six "Therefore, what God has yoked together let no man put apart."

I believe there is true love although a number of people don't agree. It a deep feeling you feel in your heart. True love is all around and to know your true love can take a few minutes or years. The big number of divorces cannot be attributed to wholly on true love, some are due to lack of commitment and dishonesty among the partners.

Of course true love exists! Not everybody gets divorced.. my parents are still married and according to them, more in love than when they got married. True love is rare to find and takes a lot of work. People are too lazy to put in that much effort and take the easy way out.

I think it's more than true love. I think before it's true love, there's friendship. You have to be friends. Your mate has to be a person you would rather be with. Mine is the person I have fun with (married 42 yrs-know him 46). It doesn't hurt to have a lot in common. Also, not sweating the small things! The joke in my house is (but true) that we "tried to get divorced, but no one wanted the kids!"

i'm pretty sure there is such thing as true love. i mean, it must have something to do with the "die together" thing. but there DEFINETELY is such thing as false true love.

True love is a choice. I don't think it just happens to people. Attraction, on the other hand, does just happen. But if you choose to fight for someone, to make their happiness your number one priority, and you know that they choose to love you equally, that's true love.

Okay this is a very good question: look if you got your partner and love him/her or even trust the person then this is love if not that is not love, but the main thing that develops LOVE is trust

well, true love is really tricky. u think u luv someone...then something happens and there is no going back...but if it really is true love, they'll come back anyway...but if not-keep trying! u will find someone else if u keep trying!

Most young people don't believe there is because they have been through horrible divorces or they only have one parent because only one wanted the responsibility. I have been with my wife for over twenty years and married for almost sixteen. Most people these days are far too selfish. You have to be able to compromise. You have to adapt. Above all you have to be able to feel love for someone other than yourself.
Love Is not easy but it is possible. The world we live in makes it difficult.

26 years with my husband and it just gets better do w fight yes do we like everything alike no would we die for each other you bet!!! he is my soulmate my bestfriend we laugh we giggle we fight we have great sex when we were young and firm and now well we blend into one body winkles and and belly w do not care what the world says they did not put us together God di and i still get butterflys when he walks in a room and m wonderful husband has worked with some beutiful women he is in the medical fiels and so am I but if I walk in he will stop dead on his track and say baby wow it is so good to see yoiu and smiles and will always be so proud to say I am his wife!!!......so yes Love is there hare are the rule very simple i put them on every weding card 1 remember its you two against the world 2 Love God and have him be the leader in the marriage 3 great sex in every stage of your marriage with both not one both agreeing that yourhappy in that area and women speak out a man can not read yu mind point out what you want thats it in love Mrs. Sweeden

For someone to say that marriage is a failed attempt would be to insult the originator of marriage, God himself. Genesis 2:24 states That is why a man will leave his father and his mother and he must stick to his wife and they must become one flesh.? Jesus himself reiterated this point at Matthew 19:5 and concluded by saying in verse six "Therefore, what God has yoked together let no man put apart." The only permissible option for divorce for a Christian was stated shortly afterward in verse nine. "I say to YOU that whoever divorces his wife, except on the ground of fornication, and marries another commits adultery." The problems with most marriages today is that the foundation on which it was built is shaky. Selfishness is the root cause of many divorces. A person feels that because this is not good for "me" or that "I" am being wronged, that it gives them leeway to end a marital relationship. Such an attitude is not Christlike. Rather true love can be defined by his words at John 13:34, "I am giving YOU a new commandment, that YOU love one another; just as I have loved YOU, that YOU also love one another."

Love that is normal does not mean any thing to anyone. But TRUE LOVE!!!!! That is what everyone does not understand. It sometimes may be pretty serious to one person but the other person may just say i am divorcing with you. So I think that true love exists. But who ever thinks that it does not exist they do not have a heart. But i am not saying its true.

So have I, and at times the whole 'true love' thing is just a daydream, a fairytale. But I believe it is real, you just have to wait for the right person. Many peaple don't have the patience, or faith for it to become real for them. Love is when you can't picture yourself with anyone else execpt that specail person, it's when you feel so deeply scarred inside when that person is gone that the world and all it's hope and glory has ended, it's when you can't think of anything or anyone else, the only thing that exists is the perosn you love. But, you will know when it happens to you.

Yes. You'll know it when you have it. Everything you look at, will seem new and colorful to you. It is just like the song 'Come what may' the line "I never knew I could feel like this, like I've never seen the sky before". I married the man who gave me that feeling, and it has never gone away.
