If your ex boss was truly the Antichrist, then you got fired b/c you didn't get along with him, how do you appear positive in interviews?

it was my dream job in marketing and we just didn't get along at all and it's weird because I usually get along with everyone. I doubt he'll give me a glowing recommendation, even though when I was fired he asked me to continue contract work on the side, which I didn't do because he was just too awful and with a really scary temper. I wish I could explain this to a future employer but I think it would look bad....?

Your previous employer can refuse to give information beyond the fact that you worked there. Most employers try to avoid negativity, because they don't want to be sued for libel. Hopefully, your employer is like that. Good luck in your job search.

If he could not get along with you, than it is not your problem. You are not here to make everyone happy. Just take it as a learning curve. You learn how to interact with someone even if they didn't with you.

Thank you for answering! Hmmm, I sure wish I knew what I really learned from it though... I guess you're right I did learn to coexist with him but every day was just pure misery. I'm so glad I was fired actually. :D

Just tell the truth if asked. There was a personality conflict. Mention he did ask you to continue on the side!

thank you, I appreciate you answering. I just feel like questions at job interviews are supposed to be so perfectly answered I almost forget it's an option to just be honest. I just hope they don't think that I'm normally someone difficult to get along with.

They will see who you are at your interview! They will be able to tell. Good luck.
