If a bankruptcy trustee fails to inform his "client" there is a program to keep from losing the family home, does he have any liability?

Contact your Mortgage Servicer. They'll let you know. That's what I do for a living. I'm a Home Saver. Trustees/Lawyers just basically handle the bankruptcy side but prefer you to handle the saving your home part. Just keep in mind, if you have an attorney they need to contact your Mortgage Servicer to inform them they can speak with you in writing. I talked to about 10 bankruptcy lawyers yesterday. Most of them prefer I speak with their clients. If they don't, then definitely ask a lot of questions to the right people.
