How do I convince my mom to let me buy a thong?

I just want to get one ya know? I'm 15 and I don't see a problem with it:) but my mom does. I've talked to her about, like lines and stuff but she says that I'm being ridiculous and that you can't see lines in clothes people wear. like I'm lying or something. what do I say to her?

I'm going to have to side with your mom on this one. Thongs are usually worn to be shown off (to boys). Other than that thongs have no purpose. So why would you need one? The only reason I mentioned is something you are way too young for. Suck it up and wait until your 18, then you can wear them as much as you want.

Panty lines? It doesn't show them, so that's one use

Panty lines? If you can see the your panty lines through your clothing then you are wearing too tight of clothing.I have never heard it being an issue in high school or in college or after.

Tell her that you are a young woman now and what you wear is becoming important. I know I see girls panty lines and think that's wierd. Do you wear leggings? There's not a problem with them. I started wearing them when I was thirteen.

It's underwear, get over it. You can wear thongs when you move out.

Were I your mother I would let you have a thong, just as long as your outer clothes aren't so tight or to skimpy that everyone can SEE that you are wearing a thong. Personally, however, I don't see the point of them. Why buy underwear designed to go where we used to hate our underwear going?

Tell her that "mature" men like me and perhaps your math or science teacher will be checking you out when you bend over. or walk back from his desk at the front of the classroom to your own desk at the back. (I'm sure she wouldn't care to have all those randy boys checking you out, better someone like me or your teachers huh?) That ought to convince her.

You could have one of mine, (I'll even go so far as to clean up the skid marks for you.) They could be a little loose on you as well though.

Just buy one yourself? If you're fifteen you should have some money by now.

There's such a thing as seamless underwear if underwear lines are a big deal to you, you don't have to wear thongs. Thongs are super sexual and if I was a parent I wouldn't let my daughter wear anything sexy till she moves out haha and lets be honest I doubt you would either if you were in her position. Buttttttt I'm not really one to talk because I was in your position too and I just went out and bought some myself! My mum never had to know. The one thing is you have to do your own laundry and for some people that could be a big deal haha but listen to the wise people here that's just my opinion :)

Thongs are for girls wanting to draw attention.I'm guessing you want thongs because the other girls wear them.dress your age, eventually that age will come.

Um i went to walmart with my mom to get underwear and found some that I thought were good so we bought them with out like really looking at them and when I got home I realized that they were thongs!!! oops. but that night I wore them just to see what they were like and they are the most uncomfortable thing ever. i have not worn them since. And that was 3 months ago.

Super, my daughter when she was 15 wanted one. She never asked me she just bought it!! Anyway, I would let it rest for now. Ask again in 6 months. Encourage your mom to talk to other mothers about it. She would probably be surprised at how many kids wear them.
