Can towel with hair dye from drying your hair cause a fire if clothes us laying on top of it

I had dyed my hair 2 days prior to the fire....the towel was laying in the floor with clothes on top of it i come home and omg i was just in time the clothes was on fire

You just throw your towels on the floor? Goodness knows what else your threw on floor...that could have caused it. Also, check electrical sockets.

Theres no electrical sockets around and no i was getting ready to do laundry and had to run to town to get some detergent and stuff

No, hair dye cannot ignite a fire. It's flammable, but something else must've started it.

interesting. from what I just googled about salons, spontaneous combustion fires and hair towels, the majority of the cases involved dryers.

I found an article about a family awoken by a fire. the fire department cited that the cause of the fire was due to a hair dye which had been stored for two years in a bag in wardrobe closet....
