Did I get the job?

So I went on an interview in august for a cosmetics position at a very high-end make-up brand. Which is located at Macy's 34th street. Now this was probably the best interview I went on, they seemed very pleased with me, it was three women interviewing me at once. And at the end of the interview, one of them asked: "so ladies is there anything else you would like to ask her?" and one of them said "No, I'm happy!" In less than a week (August 21) I got a phone call asking when am I available to start, and that they're interested in me. I told them asap, and we talked for a brief moment. I haven't heard anything since that phone call, however I was aware that the store was being built in Macys. And I just checked online, and that store is still not up yet. So they obviously didn't hire anyone before me Im guessing? do you think that they're waiting for the store to open first? Cause Macys 34th street is going through a MAJOR $400 million renovation right now. I hope I got it....they were REALLY happy. Idk why they wouldn't call me.

You can call and ask since you are concerned about the renovation completion date, but I would not get your hopes up. They typically like to hire right away.

I called them, and they actually are already open and have hired people. I'm devastated.

If you go to school, ask your advisor what you are missing on your resume or how you are presenting yourself.

If you have any visible tattoos or other body modifications (i.e. guages), you might need to reduce their visibility.

I think you got the job if they called to see when you could start. Be patient and wait until the renovation is done.
