I need to find the gerund in the following sentences:

1) Striking miners lobbied MP's yesterday. They claim that striking is the only course of action open to them.

I think I know what a gerund is. No promises, but here goes:

Yes thank you< but which striking, and which drinking in nr 4?
also, would you know why driving in 3 isn't a gerund?

2nd striking. Drinking, looks like all? I don't know.
Driving isn't a gerund because drive isn't a noun.
