I got a detention and am way too scared to tell my parents.

This is my first ever detention and I am really upset about it. It was because I forgot my homework and I have a good excuse (internet was not working) but the teacher is relentless to me and I still have it. How should I address this to my parents? I am so scared and really screwed right now. Thanks

Try talking to whoever is the easiest to talk to and say you told your teacher you forgot your homework because your internet wouldn't work and the teacher told you that you had detention anyway. If you told the truth hopefully your parent will understand and if this teacher is one you complain about a lot they should understand and might even call the school and complain about the teacher also make sure your parent isn't in a bad mood when telling them sorry this was really long

Well if it truly isn't your fault then they shouldn't blame you for it. And since this is your first it's not like they can be mad because you're a repeat offender. Just get up and do it. Trust me, you'll need a lot more courage than this requires later on in life so it's best to start building it now

Communication is the answer! Explain everything to your parents... I'm a mom and if its not my kids fault I will clear it up.. your parents have your back more than you think! good luck!

You could get a friend. You could say that you're going to their house after school
