Addiction is almost all physiological. You telling yourself that you are addicted will make you 5 times more dependent. If you really think you are addicted then slowly stop like try coffee, then something less sugary, until you no longer have a dependency.
This is a learned behavior and one that you can unlearn. I've worked with folks with similar behaviors (cigarettes, sodas, etc.) using hypnosis and have had great success. If you really think it's that big of a problem for you to shake, look into it.
