X^2 - 1 over X+2

Well, I think you're asking for the limit as x approaches 1 of (x^2-1)/(x+2)? Ordinarily, I'd try to do some algebra like factoring or something, but it's not necessary bc direct substitution gives the answer. Just put in 1 and you get 0/3=0. The limit is zero.
