My mom has MAI in her lungs, is starting treatment and needs to be close to me for care. I have a son with CF. Can she pass her MAI to him?

Mycobacterium avium-intracellulare infection? You really should talk to your doctor about that one. Having cystic fibrosis, your son is immuno-compromised so is more susceptible to infection, depending on how contagious it is to begin with. A simple paper mask may be enough to prevent infection, but this is a discussion you MUST have with the doctors.
