Trying to decide if I should join the Marine Reserves.

Thinking about doing the reserves as an MP while through college. Can any one give me advice on this? Any good reasons not to join? How likely would I be deployed?

Heck yeah! Join ANY branch and you'll be a better man for the experience! Good luck!

The marines are the first to fight so, maybe the army would be safer. I dunno.

Go ahead! I recommend active duty though, you make more money and get more benefits!
And I also recommend the Air Force, but I'm a bit bias. ^_^
You're very likely to be deployed at least once during an enlistment. In the Air Force you're a lot more safe. The Marines are the most "risky" in my opinion.

If you go active duty they will pay for your college and you'll have a full time career.

you should definitely join. I was on active duty in the army as a combat medic for 4 years after high school. It was well worth it. Now I am attending college on the Post 9-11 GI Bill. I was deployed once to afghanistan back in 2011. Deployments are a blast. Most soldiers were glad they went through the experience when it was all said and done....but if you're trying to focus on school, the reserves is definitely a good choice. you would have to take a break from school to go to basic training and then AIT. Most contracts now will offer you a 2-year immobilization agreement. That means you cannot be deployed (or pcs'd within the country) for two years. If you have any more questions just message me back. I myself have debated whether or not I should activate my reserve status.

well is a good idea if u pick the right path n this r the worst 2, Active n artillery, if u do join do reserves, study a career because the bigest problem Now with soldiers coming back is that they cant find jobs because they didnt studied a career, after the gun is been taken away, they r nothing.so if u join study a career.n make ur family proud

With something as serious as this you shouldn't ask people who have no relation or reason to care for you, think to yourself and make a decision, my brother did it and he regrets it.

This is the most reasonable response to your question Labster. Listen to your heart, use your mind, and think about what you are risking and for what cause.

Follow your heart. If you wake up in the morning and can't stop thinking about the marines then you have your answer. Good luck!
