Realistic dream, right? In the past few years we've discovered a chemical compound secreted by the brain's pineal gland in microscopic amounts - DMT - to be directly involved in transcendent experiences - from using our imaginations, hyper-realistic dreams, pre-visualization, hallucinations, religious encounters with the divine, alien abduction phenomena, and NDE's (near death experiences). This powerful psychedelic compound also time-shifts the subject - although the chemical's half-life is about 10 minutes when given to test subjects, they all report being " jettisoned" right out of their bodies and have profound insights they can't verbalize - thinking that much greater time has elapsed when they come out of the trance. During REM sleep, scientists measure a detectable (albeit minute) dosage endogenously released from the pineal gland - also known as the "third eye".
Being chased by animals in Freudian analysis is indicative of feeling threatened by our own animalistic urges-- the fear of being consumed or harmed by our appetites. The woman could either be someone close to you, or a part of your own personality (likely your self-critical, judging self) that is at war with your ego. Is it possible part of you wants to indulge something, and the other part wants to avoid it?

Dear AylaCim, I will give you another possibility for your recurring dreams...because something similar happened to me many years ago now.
Dreams of impending death are, in my way of seeing, typically very auspicious. They can come when our old, artificial self, which the world has taught us we must pretend to be, is now giving way to something more real and authentic.
So in that perspective, the animals are your own instinctive knowing that this beautiful "death" needs to happen. And the woman is a certain universal feminine essence within you (and all of us) that sees how dysfunctional our world is now, all the fear and greed, and is showing each of us, one by one, how to overcome fear with love.
And my dream...around 1990, I think it was...I was put on trial and sentenced to death --- shot in the head. Best thing that ever happened to me.
Being chased by an animal or person according to analysis is its your shadow self (instinctive side that we try to suppress). Have you ever thought of confronting the animal or person. Asking what it wants?
Otherwise is there anything occuring in your life that may be representative of the thing you are you afraid of. What things are happening in your life at the moment? Sometimes it is just that simple. You subconscious often trys to work things out during dreams. If you can become a lucid dreamer you can often control a dream because you are aware you are in a dream. And you can do anything in a dream. Flying is an example.
Usually dreams about death aren't bad things. It could be a sign of something changing. For example : teenagers dream about they're parents dying. That could mean they're dependence of they're parents are dying.
