Can a cookie sheet affect the cookies

how can cookies affect the cookies sheet

Report as

Yes. I use a dark nonstick cookie sheet for chocolate chip cookies. I bake those at 375. I've used lighter cookie sheets and they have a tendency to burn the bottoms. Another thing thing that makes a difference is the age of your cookie sheet. I used one my mom gave me for years. It was hit and miss. Try to use sheets that are a good quality and aren't ancient. It makes a difference. Happy baking!

Usually dark or nonstick pans are supposed to be baked at a lower temp and for fewer minutes bc they cook faster. It's the other way around for the lighter pans.

Yes. A shiny silver cookie sheet will not brown or crisp the cookies as nicely as a dark cookie sheet.
