Can skateboarding help me lose weight?

Skateboarding as opposed to... sitting around doing nothing at all? Sure maybe you'll lose a pound. It's a very inefficient way to lose weight, though. The quickest way to see results is to change your diet.

Yes. Skateboarding like swimming causes you to use all of your muscles.

I agree, swimming is one of the best ways.. Walking, running or jogging; using your legs helps lots, because you have the biggest muscles of your body in your legs.. Eat only greens for lunch and dinner, you can eat all the greens you want & nothing else: You'll loose fat fast! For breakfast you can eat anything but, for lunch and dinner eat only greens, I'm the repetition guy! Stay active all day, start when you wake up..

yes and no, depends on how much weight your talking about. like Verne50 said it uses a lot of muscles and helps with core control and balance

Certainly not as much as those weight loss programs but it will increase your leg muscle and increase your stamina so i would recommend doing whatever it is that you find fun in losing weight and keep at it

no you go to the gym or go out and run i dont think skateboarding is a real sport so yea

nonsense, it is a real sport and involves alot of muscle work. try it, it's harder than it looks. im talking about just skating around i mean doing tricks and going to the skate park

Yes actually it can skateboard requires use of upper body for balance and lower body for pushing off breaking etc

Skateboarding will help you weight just as any physical sport can you just need to be aware of the dangers of it like knee pain because you are putting a lot of pressure and weight on them, wear knee braces at least until you lose some weight,at least you are going in the right direction, good luck to you

like any sport you're also going to have to do some extra stretches and exercises to do it efficiently. other than that YES most definitely. it works alot of muscles

Yes it is exercise, when you are trying to balance or stabilize the skateboard you are working your core (abs) it'll help you get that nice 6-pack abs

yes because you are using your leg muscles so it could work like a cardio workout but you should also do other workouts along with skateboarding like treadmill or running or biking

It depends how vigorously you skate. If you just cruise around it won't burn as much as doing tricks and grinds. Eat healthy and do vigorous activity.

yeah why not its fun right..... i do it all the time scrapped up my whole entire boddy in fact i scared my hip a little bit because i fell down a huge hill that i wasn't ready for which i obviously know now, lol, just have fun even if it doesn't help you lose weight (:

Yes, skating will definitely help you loose weight, it helped get back into shape. Plus it is so fun after you learn a trick that you keep doing it and doing and while you are having fun you are loosing weight! Yeah keep up the skating! have fun!!

it only the science of the human body, coming from a family of almost medical professionals, I do agree it strengthens your arms and posture, but fat goes to the thighs and stomach, not your arms, which occasionally rise up vertically. the only real movement in your legs is the push off every once and a while. skateboarding; although fun and amusing, it does not make you lose weight

Well, as a skateboarder, It doesn't really make you loose weight. What really counts is your diet. Maintain a good diet.
