If someone's cell phone is off, and someone leaves a voicemail on that phone, when the phone is turned on, should the message notifier show?
I have an AT&T prepaid cell phone. It is almost always off. I tested the voicemail last week... I called my cell (which was off) from my landline, and left a voicemail. Four days later, I turned on my cell phone, and the message indicator was not showing. I tried the same thing from another phone, and the indicator still did not show. I spoke with someone from AT&T's tech support, and he told me that on any cell phones (no matter the provider), the cell phone must be on, for the phone's owner to see the message indicator. He said that if a cell phone is off when a voicemail is left on it, then the indicator will not appear, when the phone is turned on. I could swear that he is wrong, and there have been times in the past, when I turned on my phone, and the voicemail indicator was showing. Who is correct ?
