How to cope with complete loss of appetite?

I'm finding it very hard to eat lately, but I know I need to. tips? I've been upset lately with what someone said to me, and being unable to talk to them about it, which I think may have triggered my complete and utter loss of appetite. I don't get hunger or feel a desire to eat at all lately, but I know I need to. Usually, I get a tiny bit hungry, and I'll eat light snacks here and there, my appetite has always been small, but lately it has been nonexistent.

Well, lets see: Keep yourself hydrated.

Try eating things that are more appetizing and/or easier to digest, or make your regular food more appetizing and/or easier to digest.

Keep your mind active. And take some time to relax too. Anyway, since you know this is an emotional issue, as its on the description that you ve been upset lately, then probably dealing with it will do the trick. So... wanna talk about it?

At the very least you should take some supplements/vitamins. Try drinking a protein shake or protein bar.

It's a little after 3:00 my time. All I could muster was some zucchini bread this morning, and an almond nutrigram bar just now. Should that be ok? I mean, that's better than nothing, right? I have had an eating disorder, and certain commentary has triggered it and it hasn't helped that I can't talk to them about it so they won't say those things to me again, and so I can try to heal without worrying. I'm scarred of slipping.. I do know all the health affects of not eating, despite my not wanting to eat, so I am forcing myself to eat light snacks. Should I be ok in the meantime? Thanks for answering. Protein shakes sound like a good idea.

Try thinking of a food that kind of.. Appeals to you.or you could have like, Gatorade or vitamin water , but either way, Your body has to have food to function correctly . example; thinking, moving, coordination, and so on.

Go to a doctor and have them give you a complete checkup. If they don't find anything it might be psychological if it is go to a counselor or therapist. You can get malnourished, sick, light headed, you might even pass out. It can become serious you need to get medical attention.

Shaylen , You gotta eat !

Take solid food and put it in a blender if you put anything like ketchup, mustard, maynaiase, etc. add it as well. Then blend it till it is liquified enough that you can drink it. My grandma had to do it for a few weeks. After she had work done on her teeth. She said it tastes way better then it looks.

Oh and Shaylen you may want to write down whats bothering you in a journal or a diary. It helps me with my anxiety. If that doesn't help still keep the journal/diary keep on writing down whats bothering you but leave a blank page or two in between each entry then give it to your parents or a trusted adult. To read and reply I do that when I can't talk about bullying or whats bothering me with my parents. It helps both them and me.
Hopes this helps you

I'm really sorry this is happening Shaylen. When my ex and I split, I went through the same situation. And I still do. I see my ex every day, and I get nauseous every time. I come home and I wont eat until the next morning. It really puts a strain on me and my son. I need to be strong enough to provide for not only him, but myself as well. This can lead to Anorexia. I don't want that, you don't want that, your family doesn't want that. No one wants to see you like that. So, you must get rid of this anxiety or stress somehow. I know I'm not much help here, because everyone else's answers will be applying to me as well. All I have for you is this link, it's not much, but I hope it's of some help. http://www.ehow.com/facts_6905243_deal-loss-appetite.html

You know that very old saying breakfast is the most important meal of the day ! I never quite experienced this myself but I know that with the amount of stress people tend to lose their appetite. It is never good to starve yourself.Like Bryan said you must always be sure to stay hydrated. And another one of my sayings is music is a GREAT way to relieve all kinds of stress.
